Very few ballots are left to be counted so I will be certified as winning the Clark PUD District 1 Commissioner's position.
I am eager to join Nancy Barnes and Byron Hanke on the board and thank my supporters and the voters of the county for this honor.

I am running for the open Clark Public Utility District position this year. The PUD faces technical challenges in a number of areas. The electric energy and natural gas markets are complex and will have a significant impact on Clark County electric rates. New federal electric reliability regulations expose the utility to penalties if those regulations are not followed. It will be a challenge to meet new renewable energy standards without losing some of our low cost federal power rights.
My 31 year career with Pacific Gas & Electric included the position of Manager of Power Control, and now my work as a Power Utilities Technology instructor gives me the background to understand the technical nature of the PUD's business and regulatory environment.
In addition, I have regularly attended PUD board meetings since 1993. I would welcome the opportunity to work with the other commissioners and utility staff to continue the excellent service the PUD provides.
